Former Super Falcons coach, Godwin Izilein has counselled Super Eagles handler, Samson Siasia on how to dismantle the Barea of Madagascar when both teams meet tomorrow in Antananarivo.

According to the former Golden Eaglets Coach, “the only way to down the Madagascar team in Antanaarivo is to score early goals,” he began.

NOT A LAUGHING MATTER - Siasia

“I just hope with the absence of some of the key players in the team like Osaze Odemwingie, Kalu Uche and others, he (Siasia) should be able to use the remaining players effectively to get good result for us. This is a match I think, if things go well, we will come out victorious in the end. I don’t think the match will pose a problem for them, “ he said.

He added that, “First, the coach should not assume that it is going to be rosy. I would advise that in the first half he should be able to observe the first two minutes, look out for the good and bad sides of his opponent and capitalize on it.

Also, with the poor state of their pitch which was likened to a rugby field, what I will advise is for Siasia to tell them to adapt to it immediately, but then they should play the ball with precision. When I say precision, I mean they should be very careful.

Another way to destablize a team like Madagascar is early goals. They should score early goals, keep what they have intact and ensure they do not allow them score. If they do not score within the middle of the first half, frustration will set in and in a high expectation they might just scale through. In all, I’m not expecting a 90 percent performance from our players because they have not been able to play together.

“Outside that, we should pray for them because the element of luck is not just enough. I am very optimistic that they will get a positive result but the margin I can not predict. We should win that match, the luck we have is that there are lots of new players who are really determined to impress. That alone is a plus for us because they know if they do not perform well in this match, they may not get the opportunity to play again,” he concluded.
