The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Prince Olaide Akinremi, fondly called Jagaban, has facilitated a double training and empowerment programme for members of his constituency.

The first training, targeted at upgrading the knowledge base of plumbers in Ibadan North Federal Constituency was facilitated through the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI.

The programme will run from Monday 26th to Friday 30th September, 2022.

Over 100 plumbers in Ibadan North Federal Constituency are being trained on modern methods of plumbing and their applications, with each participant set to be empowered with modern plumbing tools and equipment worth over 1 million naira to enhance their work functionality, productivity and efficiency.

Similarly, the lawmaker facilitated a workshop on knowledge acquisition on the Practical Use of Science Laboratory Kits for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM, teachers in 30 public secondary schools within Ibadan North Federal Constituency. 

The workshop, held at the Nigeria Institute for Science Laboratory Technology, NISLT, premises in Samonda Ibadan on Wednesday 28th Sept., 2022 witnessed the distribution of modern Science Laboratory Kits to the participating teachers for their respective schools, for academic and educative use, in the interest of their students, and importantly in the growth of Science and Technology in our immediate environment.

Speaking at the event, the lawmaker said he values and prioritizes knowledge in any field of human endeavor, adding that he is interested and has “invested enormous resources into human capacity development in the formal and informal sectors for several years now.”

He also explained that youth development and empowerment remains a critical part of his legislative agenda, adding that he remains “committed to ideas and programs that will help the youths of his constituency attain financial independence and self-sufficiency.”
