NNLA 2022 Rivers Edition: Gov Wikes, Wigwe, 8 others make honours list

PORT HARCOURT – THE Nigerian National Legacy Awards (NNLA) has unveiled 10 recipients for its 2022 Class that focuses on outstanding achievers from Rivers state with Governor Nyesom Wike and former Access Bank Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Wigwe making the honours list.

NNLA, since 2010 inception, has been dedicated to honouring industrious Nigerians and corporate concerns in varied endevours whose outstanding contributions with commitment to integrity remarkably enhance national development.

Organising body of the yearly celebration of excellence which unveiled the awardees in Abuja weekend, stated that the NNLA 2023 Rivers Special Edition, first of its kind, exercised the tradition of utmost transparency in locating these class of achievers shaping Rivers state economy and development. 

Other distinguished awardees listed in the cast of 10 include Speaker of  Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji-Ibani, The Amanyanabo of Bonny, His  Majesty Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, His Majesty Frank Okurakpo, MD, First – Adasa Group Ltd, Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government, Hon Ihunda Allwell and Asuquo Ntuen Of Aens Projects & Engineering Services Ltd.

The list of the 2022 honourees further include multiple excellence awards winner, Seinye Lulu-Briggs, Executive Chairman, Moni Pulo Limited, Francis Edegbo, MD Charicon Contracting Nigeria Limited and Emmanuel Chukwuma Ibe, Chairman, Austason Multi Company Nigeria Limited. 

Ovie Odubu, Executive Secretary, NNLA, espoused that, “The 2022 Rivers Special Edition recognises leadership role models worthy of emulation to inspire young Nigerians, especially the young aspiring for greatness by seeing through the excellence of the awardees to maximise their potentials for improving society. 

“NNLA nomination portal for the awards had been opened for past three months for Rivers people and interested public to nominate deserving individuals for the prestigious awards with adequate publicity to ensure robust public participation in the award process.

“Over 600 nominations received were streamlined to 61 and eventual 10 individuals chosen by a board of jury involving independent media professionals and social analysts, primarily assessing and evaluating every nomination entry impartially and sharing constructive feedback with the public based on the bond of trust and transparency established over the years.”
