CALABAR – CROSS River State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mr. Mike Igini, has said that to stem the current spate of bombings in the country to stop, Nigerians must shun ethnic and religious sentiments.

He also condemned the recent bombing of United Nations House in Abuja, describing it as the lowest point of expression of grievance.

Igini, in a statement, yesterday, lamented that the death of 23 innocent persons, who have no say in whatever issue, represents a movement away from the pristine values of dialogue.

He said:  “Anyone, who is acquainted with how the League of Nations and subsequently the United Nations was formed and why, would know that nothing can justify targeting the UN or any of its agencies in any conflict situation and whatever reason or motivation.”
