MINNA – Acting Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto weekend condemned the spate of explosions currently rocking the nation, just as he restated the State Government’s position that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan should convene a stakeholders’ forum to proffer solutions to the incessant bombings.
Ibeto who was reacting to the bomb blast at the United Nations building in Abuja which left many persons dead and several others maimed on Friday said in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Danladi Ndayebo, that the spate of bombings in the country have become a national emergency and must be treated as such.
He said: “The issue of security should not be left to government alone. My thinking is that government alone cannot stop activities of terrorists which have left hundreds of innocent Nigerians either dead or wounded.”
Ibeto said it was important to sit with major stakeholders with a view to knowing the grievances of the perpetrators and to proffer lasting solutions to them.
