Antananarivo Battle: Pick players with large heart, Imenger tells Siasia

Former BCC Lions of Gboko star and Super Eagles player, Barnabas Imenger has charged Samson Siasia to pick players that will play their hearts out against Madagascar in Antananarivo next Saturday.

Imenger, a former El Kanemi Warriors star said that the botched game against Ghana would have helped Siasia and his wards to prepare well enough for the tie.

“This is not the time for sentiments so he must select players that are ready to play their hearts out on the pitch. Players that will be able to carry out everything the technical crew instructs them to do on the field of play,”he said.

On the game itself, he charged the NFF to get the team’s traveling arrangements right and the players themselves to be focused with victory on their mind.

“I want the NFF to get logistics in place as regards the team’s traveling so we will not experience what we did against Ethiopia. Also Siasia should be in touch with the players, preparing their minds ahead of the game,” Imenger said.

He further said that, “If we had played the game against Ghana, it would have put the team in a competitive mood for this game against Madagascar and Siasia would have also used it to perfect his strategy, but however, we have a bunch of professionals that know what the game entails.

“I think the cancellation wasn’t that good for us in light of the crucial tie. The Madagascar game must be won else we are out of the Nations Cup,” Imenger added.
