Several injured as touts invade Cele busstop

By Evelyn Usman
LAGOS — There was an uproar yesterday at Cele busstop, along Oshodi/Apapa expressway, following the invasion of the motor park by armed touts, whose intention was to topple the incumbent leadership.

Several persons were reportedly injured in the ensuing stampede while commercial vehicle drivers and motorcyclists hurriedly zoomed off for fear of being attacked.

Vanguard learn that the invaders earlier stormed the Ejigbo office of the chairman of the park.

When news of the attack reached the chairman’s loyalists at Cele, they (loyalists) reportedly armed themselves for war.

Policemen from Isolo division were said to have acted promptly by averting a situation that would have turned bloody.

A search as gathered, was carried on anyone with questionable character to ascertain whether they were armed.

As at time of writing this report, no arrest according to the Police had been made. But an officer at Isolo who pleaded anonymity said the Police was on top of the situation.
