Attempt by the policeman attached to Mobile Squad 20, to take the parties involved to the station, met stiff resistance. This, according to sources, led to a struggle between the policeman and barbecue seller and in the process, the policeman fired some shots.
Meanwhile, a taxi driver, who was sitting on the bonnet of his Volkswagen Passat car, waiting for customers was hit in the chest by a bullet, thereby killing him on the spot.
This infuriated people in the area who charged at the policeman. But he manged to escape. An eyewitness who simply identified himself as Bolaji told Vanguard, that policemen from Area F Command arrived at about 5am and removed the corpse and the cab with plate number XM 75 EPE.
When vanguard visited scene, there was blood stain all over.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Samuel Jinadu, claimed he was unaware of the incident.
