Ogaba urges F/Eagles to be cautious against France

By Ime Bassey
With the Flying Eagles 1-0 victory over the Junior Three Lions of England at the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, Ex-junior international, Peter Ogaba has urged Coach John Obuh and his wards to approach the game against France with caution.

Ogaba, a member of the silver winning Saudi ’89 Flying Eagles squad asked the coach to work on his defence as it is his starting point of attack.

“They played well in their last game against England so, I think they are getting stronger even as the competition gets into the crucial stages. Playing against France will be a very tactical game more than that of England, but if we can play the way we did against the English with more carefulness in our attacking strategies, we will carry the day.

“Also, we need to be patient in taking our chances when they come because I know the French team will come all out on us but our ability to play safe in the defence which for me is our weakest link, will determine how best we would be able to sustain them.

“I think Coach John Obuh has done a good job by learning from his pre-tournament matches. I am optimistic that he is seeing what I am seeing. I believe they should be able to work pass France into the semi final if only they take their chances, but if they decide to go all out, there might be problem in the rare guard.

So, I want them to keep the game compact and work on the attacking prowess of Ahmed Musa and Edafe Egbedi on the flags, breaking through the French defence,” Ogaba said
