PORT HARCOURT- FEDERAL Government has been told to set up a panel of enquiry into last Sunday’s jailbreak at the Port Harcourt prisons, where five inmates reportedly escaped.

 In a statement in Port Harcourt by the publicity secretary of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Mr. Jeery Needam, the party recalled that there had been similar incident in the past where several inmates escaped from  the prisons.

According to him, the reoccurence  had made the issue worrisome.  It will be recalled that a major jailbreak occurred in the state some years back where several inmates allegedly escaped.

ACN said it was necessary to investigate  the cause of the incidents and come up with recommendations to put an end to it.
