The inaugural Afribuild West Africa 2012 exhibition will be showcasing interior and exterior building designs as well as contemporary products for the housing industry.

Slated for March next year in Lagos, the exhibition will be used to unveil eco-friendly applications for residential, commercial and industrial developments.

Managing Director, Montgomery Worldwide, organisers of the exhibition, Mr. Damion Angus, disclosed this at a press conference in Lagos, adding that exhibition is aimed at extending opportunities to other markets across the globe.

“There exists a wealth of opportunities for businesses worldwide to expand their operations in Africa and the expansion of our exhibition portfolio is going to provide the best possible vehicle for those businesses,” Angus said.

On the choice for Nigeria as the host of the events, the Montgomery boss explained that the expansion and diversification of the country’s economy and the need for a vehicle to bring world businesses to Nigeria informed the decision.

In the same vein, the Regional Coordinator and Africa Executive Director, World Trade Centres Association, Mr. John Adeyemi-Adeleke, said Nigeria needed to adapt contemporary technologies in order to explore opportunities available in the global market place.

He said with the emphasis on Nigeria’s rapid and positive progress, there was no better time to consider it as a key business destination, adding that UBM Montgomery West Africa provided the ideal platform for organisations around the world that were looking for opportunities to expand their business operations in the West African region. “Nigeria is rich in economic potential and ready for the global expertise, which will support and accelerate its continued growth,” he said.
