Port Harcourt – The Catholic Church in northern Cross River State, has alerted residents of the area of an alleged infiltration of 30 members of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, ostensibly to cause havoc or recruit members into the sect.
Worshippers in Catholic Churches in the five local government areas, Sunday, were informed of the alleged arrest of a member of the sect, said to have invaded the council through Benue State.
The Wardens of all Catholic Churches in the area were told to search all bags of people entering the church as well as report any abandoned car and suspicious people around the communities.
The congregation at the Catholic Church, Okuku, Yala Local Government Area was told to avoid abandoned bags and items suspected to have been dumped at crowded areas and public buildings, such as schools, hospitals and offices.
