Minna— Niger State Government has banned public officials in the state from using tinted glasses in vehicles with immediate effect. This was part of the steps taken by the state government towards curbing violence and other forms of crime in the state.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Danladi Ndayebo said the measure was in conformity with Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu’s commitment to openness, due diligence and transparency in governance.
Ndayebo added “the ban affects all categories of government officials,’’ noting that at this time when faceless people were using cover of darkness to carry out their nefarious acts, government officials should be seen as leading by example.
The statement added that the messure was a practical demonstration that Dr Aliyu-led government would ensure that public officers and the general public complied with the road traffic regulations in the state for others to follow.
