Six members of a family, Saturday, died of suspected food poisoning at Eziama Uli, Ihiala Local Government  Area of Anambra state.

The victims  include;  mother, Madam Caroline; her  daughter and an undergraduate of Anambra State University, Ginika;  another daughter,  Uchena;  her  maid; an aged woman(rumoured to be Caroline’s  mother) and her maid .

According  to reports,  a senior staff of PHCN, Awka Business Unit (names withheld) tried repeatedly to reach his wife, Madam Caroline  from his base in Awka but her phone rang  without  an answer.  He however, asked his brother from the neighbouring town to go check on his family at Ihiala.

On getting to  Madam Caroline’s home,  he met the doors locked and as neighbours raised an alarmed they have not seen any member of the family, the brother forced the door open and found the lifeless bodies of the occupants .

As at the time of this report the corpses have been deposited at a mortuary in the town.
