Technical adviser of Kwara United, Kadiri Ikhana has disclosed that his team do not stand any chance of winning the Nigerian Premier League but may pick a continental ticket at the end of the season mathematically.

The former Enyimba gaffer stressed that their loss to Shooting Stars of Ibadan has finally nailed their   dream of  winning the title again.

“I must say that our mathematical chance of staying in the title challenge this season is over with last weekend’s loss to 3SC.

In our previous game we lost to Bukola Babes by 0 – 3 at home. We came to Ibadan with the hope of getting a result to keep that mathematical chance of staying in the race on.“But unfortunately for us, we didn’t show that hunger to fight for the points. So as it is now, we are out of the title race all together.

“However, we still have a chance of getting to the continent with the remaining games though that also comes with a mathematical chance,” Ikhana said.

Crown FC boss blame wards for Bukola Babes victory

Chairman of Crown FC of Ogbomoso, Gabriel Babalola has blamed his players for  last Sunday’s  defeat against Bukola Babes at the Ilorin Township Stadium. Crown failed to improve on their games in order  to avoid  relegation  pressure when they lost to Bukola Babes on the same home ground they share.

According to the Crown FC boss, “the team started well at  the beginning of the game  but ended badly,” adding, “it is rather painful as it has affected our position in the league”.

With a few weeks to go to the end of the 2010/2011 session, he said they have no choice but to do their  best to escape relegation as he fears the team might contend with tough opponents in subsequent matches.

“It is rather unfortunate that we are in a critical situation which will only  take the grace of God for us to overcome.  With our position now, we  are drawing close to relegation but by the grace of   God, we will overcome,” Babalola said.

When asked if the officiating for last Sunday  was fair, he said: “Loosing  to Bukola Babes was not officiating problem.  I must confess the officiating was fair.

The referee was fair on both sides, sometimes in football you win  and at other  times you  lose but  it is so  painful especially now that  we are drawing close to relegation. But like I said earlier, we will scale through. I believe it  is not over until it is over,” he affirmed.
