Ota—Covenant University, Ota, Wednesday announced that it will graduate 1,263 graduates with 89 first class honours at its convocation come Friday.

At a briefing on the institution’s sixth convocation, Chancellor of of the school, Dr. David Oyedepo, gave the classification as follows: First Class—89 (7.05%); Second Class Upper—663 (52.49%); Second Class Lower — 449 (35.55%) and Third Class—62 (4.91%).

He added: ‘the 2011 edition of the convocation series was very significant being the sixth in the series, saying “the number six (6) in the Bible, amongst other meanings, symbolizes work, labour and creation,’’ adding, “it is certainly a pointer to the fact that a lot has gone into sustaining and validating the vision of Covenant University as has been evident  with every successive ceremony, since the very first one in 2006’’.

His address focused on the achievements of the institution in the areas of  Conferences and Workshop; Public Lectures/Interactive Parleys; Cutting-edge Research and Development; Learning Resources;  Postgraduate  Studies; International Linkages and Collaborations, High Market Demand for its graduates; Awards and Recognitions; Physical and Infrastructural Developments; and Issues of National Importance.
