LAGOS — Former Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Mega Party, SDMP, Prof. Pat Utomi, has called on the Federal Government to manage the Boko Haram problem, so that it does not lead to the break-up of the country.
He said the Federal Government should look at the root of Boko Haram problem, rather than the symptoms.
Addressing newsmen in Lagos, Utomi urged Nigerians to stand for what was right, saying: “We all must stand up to ensure that there is justice. If there is no justice, sthere will be no progress. A government’s sovereignty is where governmental power lies.
“The Nigeria society needs to stand for what is right, instead of being unconcerned about issues that really call for attention,” he said.
He commended the Bayelsa State House of Assembly for passing a bill on rights of widows and children.
Prof. Utomi noted that without justice, the search for peace will remain elusive. He appealed to the Federal Government to commit more funds to the education of the youths, as a progressive means of ensuring justice.
