Ajose Olusegun’s frustration is finally set to be over after his WBC light-welterweight title eliminator with Ali Chebah was moved from Algeria to America. The 31 year-old has planned to travel to Albania twice in the past only to be told days before that unrest in the country would prevent the bout from taking place.
The Nigerian-born Londoner has been out of the ring for six months as a direct result of apparent stalling by Frenchman Chebah, 25, who wanted the bout to go ahead in the troubled country and once Olusegun signed with Lou DiBella in May this year, the bout was immediately moved to take place on US soil.
‘The Angel’ Chebah has spent most of his ten year career fighting in Europe, Canada and Algeria has just one defeat in 36 bouts. He now travels to the US for the first time and puts his impressive record up against ‘Smokin Joe’ Olusegan’s perfect 29 fight record, with the winner to be mandatory to WBC champion Timothy Bradley.
