Glo out with new internet plans for handsets, tablets

By Charles Mgbolu

Telecom giant, Globacom has announced the launch of new internet tariff plans.

According to Glo, the two new plans; Glo Instant Surf, One Week and Always Micro now called the new HSI plans offer rates with increased data volumes, making Glo subscribers use their data enabled devices to browse the internet, stream audio and video clips and download heavier software applications.

Other existing plans have also been reviewed to give more value to subscribers. These include the Pay As You Use rate which has been reviewed down, Always Micro which offers a higher data download, and Always Min which now gives subscribers 3GB of data downloads instead of the previous 1.5GB.

The company said the new rates and heavier data downloads were made possible with the coming on stream of Glo-1, Globacom’s speed submarine cable which has been a great boost to the company’s telecom and internet business.

According to Globacom, with a capacity of over 2.5 terabits, Glo-1 is already providing unprecedented high speed internet services to Nigerians and making telecom services faster and cheaper for consumers.
