BENIN-GOVERNORS elected on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, will converge in Benin, Edo State, for a one-day retreat today.
Meanwhile, ACN, in the South-South said, yesterday, it would prove that Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, rigged ACN out in the last general elections in the zone through the law court.
Addressing newsmen in Benin, shortly after a meeting of the party in the zone, the national treasurer of the party, Mr. Kenneth Kobani, said the party had learnt from the mistakes made during the last elections and would ensure that it checked the excesses of PDP in Cross River, Bayelsa and Edo states, where governorship elections would be held next year.
Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Mr. Peter Okhiria, in a statement in Benin, yesterday, said that the retreat would afford the governors an opportunity to rub minds and fashion out a development agenda for the ACN-controlled states.
The retreat is expected to be chaired by Otunba Niyi Adebayo, former Governor of Ekiti State.
