The Group Managing Director, GMD, Alpha Morgan Capital, Ade Buraimo, has disclosed that the primary goal of setting up the Alpha Morgan Academy was to bridge the talent gap in the industry and develop excellently trained banking professionals with world-class skills to compete in the global market.
Buraimo stated this during the induction of the company’s first set of graduate trainees at its Lagos and Abuja offices, recently.
According to Alpha Morgan Capital, a fast-growing investment bank and fund manager, the induction programme was designed to elevate the recruits to a higher level, promote their overall development, while preparing them to craft a path for success.
The training was conducted by industry experts from within and outside the organization in which participants were exposed to a wide range of topics in investment banking, including business communication, report writing, oral communication, business etiquette, emotional intelligence, and anti-money laundering.
While urging the new employees to roll up their sleeves and get down to work, the GMD added, “no one starts as an expert, but anyone can become one.
“In Alpha Morgan Capital, being an expert in your job is a core value — so we encourage lifelong learning.
“Ask lots of questions for the sake of skill development. You won’t look bad for not knowing something; rather, you’ll look bad if you’re not trying to learn.”

Addressing the new hires, the Head of Human Resources, Sandra Iyoha, stated that the graduate trainee program was in alignment with the organization’s vision to become one of the leading investment banks in Africa.
She said: “As Alpha Morgan Capital approaches its 10th anniversary, it is essential to groom the next generation of leaders that will take up the mantle and continue the legacy.
“Therefore, it is our utmost responsibility to groom young leaders that will take us there”.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Ibukun Osokoya, said the program was an experience “I was much honoured to be a part of.
“The lessons were so impactful and applicable to both the workplace and in real-life situations.”
