Okada accident kills 2 in Delta

ASABA— TWO persons lost their lives in a ghastly accident which occurred in Asaba, Delta State, Thursday, while the driver of the car narrowly escaped being lynched by an angry mob.

The accident occurred on the Asaba/Benin Expressway by Oshimili South Local Government Area secretariat at about noon.
It was gathered that a Mitsubishi car allegedly hit a motorcycle rider, believed to be a worker with one of the ministries, from behind while negotiation a U-turn.

The two persons who rode the motorcycle died on the spot. The driver of the car bolted while angry commercial motorcycle riders, commonly known as Okada riders, gathered at the scene.

Also, yesterday, another accident involving two Okada riders occurred along the same highway by MTN office, Asaba. The two riders with their passengers were seriously wounded and were rushed to hospital.
