Port Harcourt – The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, UNODC, has adjudged the Rivers State Judiciary the best in the implementation of UNODC Action Plan on drugs and crime control in the country.

Chairman of UNODC Implementation Committee, Justice Boma Diepiri, while presenting the award to the state Chief Judge, Justice Iche Ndu, said the judiciary was high on quality of justice delivery, impartiality and fairness of the courts.

Diepiri added that the state came first among seven pilot states and came tops in access to justice, integrity and cooperation across the justice sector institution as well as public trust in the justice system.

He, however, acknowledged some challenges which the judiciary faced in adjudication of justice and called on Justice Ndu not to relent in ensuring that the state judiciary remains the best in the country.
