Former Golden Eaglets coach, Sebastine Brodericks-Imasuen has commended the Austine Eguavoen-tutored U-23 national team over their victory against the Ghana’s Black Meteors in Benin.
He, however, added that their victory will be well appreciated if they will be able to accomplish the job in the second leg in Accra next week and secure one of the tickets for the All Africa Games football event in Maputo, Mozambique later in the year.
“There is hope for the Under-23 to finish the job in Accra next weekend. A man is only known when the battle becomes hard and if we can fall short of our expectation in Accra by allowing them to beat us 4-1 having defeated them 3-1 in Benin then we should pack it up.
“With what I saw in Benin, I believe we are battle ready for the second leg. I do not think we should lose sleep about it. The important thing is that they have to work hard and prepare for the match. They should be able to do better than they did at home, because in Benin a lot of mistakes occurred. I do not believe in playing badly and scoring goals. We should be able to play well and score well,” Broderick said.
