Lagos — Mr Ibrahim Owodunni , The Lagos State Director, Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, said that the bureau was making effort to review the ‘confidentiality clause‘ in the Act on assets declaration.

Owodunni, in an interview  in Lagos  said that the National Assembly had been approached by the bureau on the matter. He, however, said that their actions were yet to ‘yield concrete fruits’.

“As CCB is trying to upgrade the documentation of assets of the public officers, it is also saddled with making lawmakers see wisdom in public declaration of assets.
“We are in a global village and people are more interested in those who governed them— their life styles and their levels of wealth.

“ Until the assembly amends the law, public officials are at liberty to declare their worth in confidence,” he said.
