The Department of English, University of Lagos in honour of Professor Agwonorobo Enaeme Eruvbetine, who recently retired from the University of Lagos invites papers to be published in a Festscrift under the broad theme; Literature, Language and the Essence of Being.

Interested scholars are expected to send in their papers not exceeding 20 pages, typed in 12 point Times Roman font and double spaced.

The papers expected to be referenced in the MLA system of re referencing can be accompanied by an abstract of about 250 words.

Contributors can as well anchor their papers on any of these sub themes: Being: A Humanistic Inquiry, Morality in Language and Literature, Art, Religion and Human Development, Perceptions and Depictions of the Human Essence in Literature, Violence and Being, Culture and Human Essence, Ethnicity, Nation Building and Human Essence and Visual and Verbal Representations of the Human Essence.

Other issues that may be addressed in the sub themes include; Linguistic Flexibility in Post colonial Writing, Language , Literature and Publishing Industry, Orality in African art and Literature, African Languages, Literature and the Human Essence and Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Language and Literature.

Agwonorobo Eruvbetine worked for about three decades in the University of Lagos as a scholar and humanist.
