Umuahia – ABIA State Command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has impounded three trucks used for bunkering of crude oil at Obehie, near Aba.

The trucks were alleged to have been used for the illegal business by a company based at Obehie community.
About six staff of the company who were seen in the area escaped arrest, while the three trucks are currently being detained by the Command.

Briefing journalists on the issue, yesterday in his office, Commandant of Abia Command of NSCDC, Mr. Nathaniel Ubong, disclosed that the command frustrated the illegal bunkering follow-ing a tip-off.

According to Ubong, such illegal bunkering has for some time been thriving in the state, particularly at Obehie in Ukwa West Local Govern-ment Area of the state.
