IBADAN – MANY sympathizers, Wednesday,  rushed to the scene of a fatal auto crash in Ibadan where 18 people were said to have died after a commercial bus fell off a bridge at Soka Bus Stop, Oluyole Local Government area of the city.

Among those that lost their lives in the unfortunate accident were two children whose ages ranged from three to five.

The commercial bus with number plate JIGAWA XB 633 DUT,  which was Lagos-bound took off from Kano State only to be involved  in an accident  in Ibadan around 7.00am  Wednesday  along Lagos-Ibadan expressway,  according to an eye witness account.

At the spot where the accident occurred were shoes, torn clothes soaked with blood of the victims, shattered windscreen, and other property of the victims.

As at the time of filing this report, the driver was said to be at the intensive care lying critically injured.

A survivor who identified himself as Ahmadu, said since they left Kano, the trip was hitch-free until they got to Ibadan.

According to him, the unidentified corpses of victims  have been taken to the mortuary of the of the Adeoyo General Hospital, University College Hospital.

The state FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Godwin Ogagaoghene confirmed the accident saying,” reckless driving must have been responsible for the accident.”
