Activities to mark Osi-Ekiti Day 2021, a town in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State have begun with prayers at the Osi-Ekiti mosque on Friday, October 29, 2021 and will climax with the installation of the regent, HRM Aderonke Agunbiade Akin on November 6.

A statement by Mr Oludare Fadogba, President of Osi-Ekiti Progressives Union (OPU) and Olori Omowunmi Agunbiade, Chairperson, Organising Committee of the event, activities said started yesterday with the church prayers and announcement of highlights of the Osi-Ekiti Day 2021 activities.

November 2, 2021, Tuesday was devoted to prayers for the Regent, HRM Aderonke Agunbiade-Akin, chiefs and Osi-Ekiti indigenes at home and in diaspora at Oba’s Palace. Clean-up exercise of the town by OPU exco members, age grade groups, clubs, students and youths and students of Osi Community High School Students held yestarday.

Other activities, among others for the weeklong festivities include Chief Dayo Ogboja Football Competition at Catholic Primary School in the town; skill training on ankara crafts; roasted yam entertainment; marathon race; Miss Osi Ekiti pageant and the grand finale is the installation of the regent and conferment of chieftaincy titles and awards to notable indigenes on November 6.
