WARRI— FIVE heavily armed gunmen, yesterday, abducted a female Customary Court President in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. The victim, identified as Mrs. Ufuoma Egebule, was taken to an unknown destination.
The kidnappers have, meanwhile, demanded a ransom of N20million.

The incident took place along the Ohwrode–Orhuwhorun road, Otor-Udu, in Udu Local Government Area of the state, at about 2 p.m. on her way back from Ughelli in company of her two children and sister-in-law.

The Customary Court President, a widow, who was driving a Delta State- owned Judiciary  Peugeot 504 car,  was said to have been overtaken by the hoodlums, who blocked her vehicle and forced her to a stop before singling her out and disappeared with her.

The armed gang was said to have driven in an ox-blood Jetta car and left the children and sister-in-law stranded on the dangerous road. One of the hoodlums was said to have looked like a half-cast.

Vanguard gathered that the kidnappers had made contact with the family of their victim, and had demanded N20m ransom, while there are efforts to secure her release.

State Police Public Relation Officer, Mr Charles Muka, could not be reached on his mobile phones for confirmation of the incident.
