Umuahia- MICHEAL Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State, has expelled 13 students for their involvement in cultism and examination malpractices.

Also, an unspecified number of students are  still serving suspension for similar offences, pending the determination of their cases by the Disciplinary Committee set up by the university to investigate them.

The new Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Hillary Edoga, who disclosed this at a press conference to mark his 100 days in office, noted that the action was taken in line with the university’s policy of zero tolerance for  acts of misconduct.

He also announced that serious measures had been taken to tackle indecent dressing among students, particularly females. Edoga said security personnel at the institution’s gate had been directed to restrain any student indecently dressed from entering  the campus.
