PORT HARCOURT – SECURITY has been beefed up at all the entrances into the Port Harcourt Army Barracks, otherwise called Bori Camp.
At the two major gates into the barracks, vehicles were thoroughly screened before been allowed in.
At the pedestrian gates, it was a similar experience. All the people who entered the barracks, yesterday, were thoroughly frisked before they were allowed in.
The development, according to some sources, might not be unconnected with the spate of bomb blasts at some barracks in the Northern part of the country.
It will be recalled that the Port Harcourt Army barracks had its own share of bomb blasts in 2006, when a militant group detonated a bomb in a car they allegedly drove into the barracks, a development that resulted in some casualties.
