IBADAN— AN Ibadan-based businessman, Mr. Abayomi Badmus, yesterday, filed a suit against the Director of State Security Services, Osun State, Mr. Olusegun Adegboye, his wife and the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Baba Adisa Bolanta, demanding N116m for alleged misuse of office and violation of his fundamental human rights.

Also sued with the heads of security agencies are the Divisional Police Officer attached to Eleyele and the Divisional Crime Officer who was then attached to Eleyele.

According to the processes filed in court, the claimant is asking the court to declare his arrest, detention of his wife and three kids on September 18,2010 as unlawful and unconstitutional.

He is also praying the Oyo State High Court to grant an order that his incarceration and detention of his family allegedly on the orders of the SSS director and the police amounted to misuse of their official position to with-hunt him.

Badmus said that his ordeal in the hands of the security chiefs started when the SSS director contracted his company to drill a borehole at his hotel site under construction at Kusela Village, off Ido-Eruwa road.

He said after discussion, the first defendant agreed to pay N450,000 and when the borehole was dug, the defendant complained that water was not flowing properly and this made him dig another one which the defendant still complained the water was not clean.

The issue reportedly dragged for a long while and led to the alleged detention of the claimant, his family and seizure of the Ford engine rig that he used to dig the borehole for 24 days.

He added that he was not paid a dime for his services despite the two year-warranty that he gave them but was allegedly forced to sign that he had collected part of the money.

And since he was forced to remain idle having allegedly seized his engine rig, he removed the rig and the wife of the SSS director reported that he was an armed robber.
