LAGOS – Prominent Nigerians, and indigenes of Lagos State along with traditional rulers on Sunday graced the colourful and epoch making inauguration ceremony of re-elected Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State as the 15th Governor of the state.

Governor Fashola said he would be running an all inclusive government whose policies and programmes will not seek to discriminate against any person irrespective of political and ethnic affiliations.  

Fashola also said that the new administration will give priority to the enforcement of law and order in order to create an environment where persons and businesses can fully realise their goals and potentials. He also assured that efforts this time would be made towards fixing Lagos inner roads.

The governor spoke  shortly after taking oath of office for another term of four years in office at the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, venue of the event.  

Some of the dignitaries at the event include: past leaders of the state, such as Brigadier General Mobalaji Johnson (rtd), Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd), and Brigadier Gen. Raji Rasaki (rtd), all former military administrators as well as civilian governors, led by Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the immediate past governor, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji.

Also at the occasion was Fashola’s opponent at the April governorship election, Mr. Jaiye Randle, popularly known as J. K. Randle. 

He was sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Inumidum Enitan Akande at about 11.25am. His new deputy, Joke Orelope-Adefulire, who was accompanied by her husband and two children was also sworn-in.

Fashola was also accompanied by his wife, Dame Abimbola Fashola and two children.
