As he gears up for the release of the lead single off his still untitled debut EP album, Obi ‘Blinx’ Okolie aka BLINX has revealed he will be embarking on a tour to promote the EP after release. This project will be a follow up to the release of the lead single of the EP in July.
The Capetown, South African based BLINX told us the tour tagged “SUMMER ON THE CAPE TOUR” will take off from Capetown and touch down in 2 major cities, Johannesburg & Durban. It will comprise live performances at select lounges/clubs, radio/media visits for interviews and photo sessions with fans.
The tour will kick off on the 31st of July and run through the 4th of September 2021. See the tour timetable listed below:
CAPETOWN:
31st July ‘CLUB SOHO’
6th & 7th August ‘SOUK & SAINT’ respectively
13th & 14th August ‘THE ONE &
COCO BAR’
The tour will move to Jo’burg and begin at CLUB HUSH 20th August and RANDLORDS 21st August. It will wrap up at E.S.P NIGHT CLUB 27th August and head to Durban for the final leg of the tour at ‘ELEGANTE NIGHT CLUB’ on 28th August and end at ‘VINYL NIGHT CLUB’ on the 4th of September.
Obi stated that the positive response of his fans to his virtual performance on Easter Sunday when he previewed and performed unreleased tracks off the EP motivated him to go on a proper live promotional tour.
Blinx said that planning a tour in these covid times is very challenging and because of the pandemic venues will only allow/strictly enforce 100 people for venues with over 500 crowd capacity and 200 people for those with 1000 crowd capacity. He said his management is already working with the club/venue owners and local health authorities to ensure adequate safety measures are put in place to protect all attendees in these covid times. He also told our reporter that those who show proof of being fully vaccinated will get a 10% discount on tickets and gate fees.
He assured his fans of high energy interactive performances.
