BENIN – MAJORITY Leader of the out-going Edo State House of Assembly, Mr. Philip Shaibu, has dismissed the speculations going on in the state that the position of the Speaker in the in-coming state legislature has been zoned to Edo South Senatorial. His explanation is coming on the heels of agitations by leaders of the Edo Central Senatorial Zone that the position of the Speaker be zoned to the area so as to maintain the balancing of power equation in the state.

The Edo South and Edo North Senatorial zones are also angling for the position in view of their 100 percent for the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the last general elections.
