Aggrieved Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, pensioners who were retired between May 2000 to December 2010, said they might be forced to institute court action against the bank, if it refused to execute the Supreme Court judgement of  May 21, 2010, in full.

The pensioners, who criticised the lopsidedness of the payment by the management of CBN, said the bank did not carry out the payment in full, as only 30 per cent of the pensioners were to be paid.

Musiliu Soetan, Protem Chairman of CBN pensioners 2000 set and above, said at a press conference  that the implementation of the court order by CBN ran contrary to the ruling of all-encompassing benefits as accrued to the pensioners and as delivered by the apex court.

According to him, “indices on ground showed that only 30 per cent of the more than 3,000 pensioners will benefit from the judgement of the court as being implemented by the bank.”
