KADUNA-The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU,  has debunked what it said were  insinuations that natives of the area attacked Hausa/Fulani people living in the area in the wake of the violence that engulfed the state after the Presidential elections, saying  youths from some of its communities  reacted in defence of their areas.

President of SOKAPU, Professor Ishaya Haruna Nok, who reacted to the allegation said, “in essence it is not true that the people of Zonkwa and Kafanchan rose in reprisal attacks on the Hausa/Fulani in retaliation to the post- election crisis in the state.

“The indigenous population and other Christians were completely taken by surprise by the violent attack as they could not respond to the heavy gunfire against them by their attackers.

He, however, recommends that government establish a military formation in Kafanchan  and also convene a National Sovereign Conference.
