Abuja – An Abuja High Court has fixed June 1 for further hearing in a suit filed by a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain in Imo, Chief Ebubeagu Ekenulo, against Chief Hope Uzodinma.
Ekenulo is challenging Uzodinma as Senator-elect representing Imo West Senatorial District.
The matter, which first came up on March 31, was adjourned to Tuesday for further hearing.
The adjournment was to enable Counsel to Ekenulo, Chief Emeka Ikweto, to duly serve the PDP and INEC, the second and third defendants in the case, respectively, with all the necessary documents.
The hearing could not, however, commence because Justice Hussein Baba was said to be attending a seminar for judges at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre.
In the suit, Ekenulo is praying the court to declare that Uzodinma was not the most credible, competent or qualified person to represent the people of Imo West Senatorial District.
