BY OKEY NDIRIBE

ABUJA-The secretariat of the presidential panel on post-election violence may commence operations today. It was learnt that the leadership of the panel had been busy with the establishment of the secretariat after its recent inauguration.

Vanguard also learnt that as soon as the secretariat of the panel begins to function, the panel would likely invite memoranda from members of the public by next week.

When contacted by Vanguard, Secretary to the panel, Mr Ogunshakin, confirmed that it would begin functioning at its secretariat in the next few days but refused to give further details.

A source within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF,  who spoke on condition of anonymity  confirmed that  after the panel was inaugurated, it had been working  silently to put  in place the required logistics for its operations.

Another source also told Vanguard that there would be shocking revelations when the panel begins sitting.
The source said although he could not justify the killing of some corps members who served as ad-hoc staff INEC, during the elections, several  of them were involved in electoral malpractices which resulted  in their being mobbed.
