ADO-EKITI—The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Ekiti State has described its relationship with the Labour Party, LP-led government of Ondo State as “very excellent and cordial”.
In a statement yesterday by the Chairman, Ekiti ACN Bureau of Public Communications, Mr Yemi Adaramodu, refuted reports in a section of the media that the ACN plans to take over Ondo State from the LP.
The ACN in Ekiti said the state party chairman, Chief Olajide Awe was quoted out of context by journalists who reported the story. The statement said the choice of who rules a state or any geo-political entity rests with the electorate through the ballot box.
It also noted that the two sister states are not at war and they are collaborating with other states in the South-West to develop the region through good governance.
The ACN said: “We also wish to state clearly that we enjoy a cordial relationship with our sister State, Ondo, hence, the alleged plan to take over Ondo State from the LP is not true”.
“The people of Ondo State are free to elect their leaders under any political party of their choice, as we don’t doubt their love for the progressives. “The LP-led administration in Ondo State, is a key partner in the Southwest integration agenda aimed at developing the zone politically, economically and socially in collaboration with governments of like.
