Man nabbed for alleged murder of sister

By Evelyn Usman

LAGOS – Emotion ran high yesterday at the Oduduwa, Ikeja office of the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, after a man gave a startling revelation of how he hacked his sister to death.

The suspect, Ndifreke Michael Thompson, told a bewildered crowd that his younger sister was fast asleep when he snuffed life out of her in their one-room apartment in Ajose, Maryland area of Lagos.

Although he could not give a substantial reason why he took the devilish act, report said the area was thrown into confusion  when the victim, Loveth, was found in the pool of her blood unconscious. She was reportedly rushed to the hospital where unfortunately she breathed her last.

Unknown to him, some of the tenants had sighted him dashed out of the apartment in a questionable manner. They were said to have  alerted the police. He was later arrested by policemen attached to Anthony division, where he confessed to the crime.

The 24-year-old Akwa-Ibom born told journalists that he was under the influence of a demonic manipulative force.

But spokesman for the command, Mr Samuel Jinadu, said his claim was no excuse under the law, informing that he would be charged to court.
