Umuahia-Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has said that his victory and success of all members of the National and State Assembly in the just concluded general elections was a testimony that Abia people have rejected despotic rule and impunity.

In a thank-you message to the people, Governor Orji boasted that PDP had finally sealed the political coffin of opponents who once bestrode the state like a ravaging colossus.

He said:  “We can see the silent voice of democracy, which was for a long time trampled and gagged in Abia State, is regaining its voice and speaking out loud and clear.

“It is a great joy today to witness the force of true democracy in action, as we march towards the new face of Abia.

“This victory, which you have given to me and all my colleagues in the PDP, both in the state and at the federal levels, is an eloquent testimony that we, the people of Abia, reject despotic rule and impunity; and we have through our actions finally sealed the political coffins of the opponents, the oppressors, who once bestrode our state like a ravaging colossus, spreading shame and destruction on the path of our economic and political system, as Abians.

“You have given us your trust, and you have made us the custodians of your collective wishes, and we will never disappoint you. You have, by your votes, completed the final liberation of Abia State from god-fatherism, and the evil family empire.”
