MAIDUGURI-The All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, candidate Kashim Shettima, has been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  as the winner of the Borno State governorship election.

In a keenly contest that polarized the state between the septuagenarian Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Muhammed Goni and the youthful ANPP candidate, Kashim Shettima, the  electorate had,  for the fourthtime, (since the return of democracy in 1999),  in talled a party that is in opposition to the Federal Government.
