Governor Gabriel Suswam of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party has finally broken the 32 year old jinx at the Benue State Government House polling unit where he polled a total of 278 votes to beat the Action Congress of Nigeria candidate Prof Steven Ugbah who garnered 184 votes.

No seating Governor in Benue State has ever won at the polling booth which is a stone throw from the Benue Government House gate.

Other results declared by the polling Clerk showed that Senator George Akume of the ACN who is running for the Benue North West Senatorial district polled 247 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr. Terngu Tsegba of the PDP who scored 203 votes.

For the State House of Assembly seat, the PDP polled 272, ACN 135, ANPP 5 and the CPC 7 votes.
