Verdant Zeal Marketing communications Limited will be spearheading the marketing communication information strategy for the National Planning Commission (NPC) on the Federal Government’s vision 20: 2020 goal.
Verdant Zeal was named the winner of the pitch process for the selection of a marketing communications agency that would work with the commission on the vision.
Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, Minister of National Planning who also doubles as the Deputy Chairman, National Planning Commission, speaking after the contract signing ceremony held at the commission’s office in Abuja, he said that the role of excellent communication is pivotal to the success of the entire project, hence the need for the rigorous selection process.
His words, “The task of launching the country onto a path of sustainable economic growth and development is not one that can be achieved on a platter of gold, but on a carefully thought out strategic planning process and implementation mechanics and thus the process of selecting parties that would be involved on delivering such a huge mandate must be thorough and unbiased”.
“Communication plays a major role throughout the whole lifespan of the project because the success or failure of the whole project could be greatly determined by how well all stakeholders are made to understand, embrace and support the vision”, he added.
Expressing confidence that the winning organization will deliver professionally and to spec, the Secretary, National Planning Commission Prof. Sylvester Monye added that, “the selection of Verdant Zeal as our preferred communications partner on this project was indeed a challenging task as most of the participating agencies at the pitch made very good representation of themselves. Having been selected as the agency of choice, I’ll urge Verdant Zeal to deliver on its mandate”.
Responding to the remarks, the Managing Director, Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications, Mr. Tunji Olugbodi noted that, “emerging as the preferred consultants is humbling and a rare privilege for my organization to contribute its own quota to the success of propagating the vision and the general quest for nation building”.
The communications programme which is said to be comprehensive and wide_ranging, will cater for the strategic and tactical needs of all stakeholders for resonance and impact.
The three stage pitch process which lasted for over six months was pitched_for by top marketing communications agencies in the country.
