*Says Okada ‘ll continue to operate in Lagos

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has warned the youths in the country to shun all forms of political violence, as it is only the measure to retain the good image of the country in the international arena.

Fashola, who spoke at a “Youth Jamz”, organized by the Ojo- Badagry youths, Saturday, to sensitize the youths on the political process in the country and apparently referring to the violence in some parts  of the north  following the announcement of presidential poll, results, noted that it is one of the ways the nation can enhance its developmental objectives in the world market.

According to him, “I urge the youths in the country to give utmost attention to education to sustain and surpass the progress recorded in the present democratic dispensation.”

Fashola who was represented by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) chairman in Ojo –Badagry, Alhaji Aliu Akinwonmi,  however, lamented the use of youths to foment electoral violence, calling for tolerance among ethnic nationalities, stressing that the country needed a peaceful environment to conduct a free and fair election.

Earlier, the leader of the organisers of the street jamz to rally support for Fashola ahead of Tuesday gubernatorial election, Oluwakayode Adebayo, said the youth in Ojo- Badagry decided to rally around the governor for his re-election bid because of his vision to turn around the fortunes of the youths and the state.
