Kaduna-The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, has assured Kaduna residents of effective security.

The army chief gave the assurance, Wednesday, in Kaduna while conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the security arrangement in the affected areas.

Ihejirika pledged to deploy additional personnel to areas of need to curb violence.

He appealed to parents and politicians to warn their children against engaging in acts of violence.

Security agencies, including the army, had to be deployed to the affected areas to assist the police in containing the unrest and restore normalcy.

Meanwhile, the police have said that five of their men lost their lives, while 50 others sustained various degree of injury in the crisis.
