TRADE Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, has asked President Goodluck Jonathan, to include it in eight governmental agencies and parastatals that it is not presently represented.

President-General of TUC, Comrade Peter Esele, in a speech at the meeting President Jonathan held with labour leaders recently, such exclusion was not acceptable to members.

According to him: “TUC demands that we be included in the boards of the various governmental agencies and parastatals where we are currently not represented in accordance with the relevant agreements and statutes. We do not understand why we have deliberately been excluded from the Boards of these organisations and Agencies despite the provision of the Law and Protocols establishing them. We are not currently represented on the following Boards: Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MNILS); National Pension Commission; PENCOM, Salaries and Wages Commission; SWC, National Labour Advisory Council; NLAC, National Directorate of Employment; NDE, National Housing Fund; NHF, National Council on Privatisation; NCP, and National Health Insurance Scheme.NHIS.”
