LAGOS – Tragedy struck, yesterday, in Ejigbo area of Lagos, after a teenager reportedly jumped into a well and drowned, in his apparent bid to prove his innocence over a case of theft.

The deceased simply identified as Benjamin, was said to have been accused of stealing a power generating set. Report said the case was reported to members of the  outlawed Odua Peoples Congress, OPC,  in the area where Benjamin was tortured and kept in their custody. His elder brother was said to have later effected his release after paying N4,000.

But on his way back to their Fashola Close residence, 19-year-old Benjamin in the company of his elder brother was said to have made straight for the well and jumped into it before any one could prevent him and he drowned.
